Spring Hill Christian Statement of Faith

The following is the foundation of beliefs on which Spring Hill Christian Academy is based. They are the key elements of Christianity that will be taught in various ways through all grade levels. The substance of these statements is considered primary doctrine at Spring Hill Christian.

Spring Hill Christian Academy is a non-denominational institution.  Issues of doctrine outside of what appears within the SHC Statement of Faith will be referred back to the family and local church.

1. The Bible: We believe the Bible alone to be the inerrant Word of God written by human authors under supernatural inspiration and direction from the Holy Spirit. The Bible is the ultimate and infallible authority for faith and practice.

2. The Trinity: We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

3. God: God is our Father and He is both great and good.  He is Holy above all.  He is all powerful, all knowing, unchanging, ever present, compassionate, and worthy of our trust because He is faithful to His people and His promises.

4. The Son: Jesus Christ is completely human and completely God at the same time.  We believe in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

5. The Holy Spirit: We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit indwells believers, guides us in truth, gives us spiritual gifts, comforts us, convicts us, and enables us to live more like Christ.

6. The Eternity: We believe that all humans are created to exist forever.  Each person will eternally exist separated from God by sin or reunited with God through salvation and forgiveness through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

7. Humanity: We believe that each and every person no matter their race, gender, nationality, age, or ability is created in the image of God. But all humanity has been separated from God because of sin.  This sin nature keeps us from attaining salvation by our own effort. Yet, every person is uniquely created by God and therefore worthy of dignity, respect, and Christian love starting with the students in our school and moving out to the culture at large.

8. Unity of  The Church: The unity of the Church is not uniformity; it is the union of the people of God throughout time and cultures bound together by the Gospel. God loves people of all nations, tongues, races, and tribes. As Jesus prayed for the Church in John 17: "I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one - as you are in me, Father and I am in You...May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that You sent me and that You love them as much as You love me."
